Tyson Fury confirms he wants Deontay Wilder rematch at Old Trafford in summer 2019

Tyson Fury has confirmed that he wants to rematch Deontay Wilder in the summer of 2019 at Old Trafford.

At the post-fight press conference in the early hours of Sunday morning, Fury’s promoter Frank Warren said: “I’d love the rematch. I’d love to see it in the UK. We’d fill a football stadium up, Wembley, Arsenal, any of those big stadiums.”

But being interviewed at half-time as Manchester United took on Arsenal at Old Trafford, Fury said that if the rematch happens in the UK, it will be taking place in his hometown of Manchester.

“Frank Warren said Arsenal, I said ‘no, let’s have it at Old Trafford,” Fury said.

“Hopefully we can have it here in the summer.”

Fury returned to the UK in high-spirits despite feeling as though he was robbed of a famous victory after his thrilling fight with Deontay Wilder was controversially ruled a split-decision draw. However, Fury reiterated that he won’t dwell on what could have been.

“Of course [I thought I won] but I’m not going to go on about it for ever,” he continued.

“Life goes on. I got robbed blind in America, the world knows it, but we go on. Continue to the next fight.”
