“Mighty Mouse” is still the flyweight king.

Demetrious Johnson dominated Kyoji Horiguchi for five rounds, literally scoring a last-second submission to retain the UFC 125-pound title at UFC 186 in Montreal on Saturday.

Johnson controlled the fight from bell to bell and planted an armbar to secure the win at the 4:59 mark of the fifth round.

As expected, the flyweights began the bout at a frantic pace. Johnson and Horiguchi traded blows a blitzing speed, but the champion found the opportunity to secure a takedown and work from the ground. The two returned to the feet and again traded shots through the end of the round.

The fast pace continued in the second. Horiguchi came forward with a combination and landed a clean knee. Johnson, however, also landed a knee of his own later. Johnson pressured his opponent and secured a number of takedowns in the frame.

Johnson began to show his championship edge in the third round, controlling Horiguchi putting him on the mat several times. Much of the same occurred in the fourth round, and Johnson dictated where the fight went with his astonishing cardio.

The fifth round showed Johnson continuing his domination. After landing several punches from a crucifix position, Johnson transitioned from side control to mount and quickly turned it into an armbar. With just one second left in the fight, Horiguchi tapped and Johnson earned the submission as well as the latest fight stoppage in UFC history.

With the win in Montreal, Johnson secures his eighth win in a row and remains unbeaten as the UFC flyweight champion.
