UFC 195: Lawler vs. Condit Gate and Attendance from Las Vegas

The Ultimate Fighting Championship made a quick return to Las Vegas on Saturday night for the first pay-per-view of 2016, UFC 195: Lawler vs. Condit.

Despite an unprecedented run in December, where the promotion held three events on three consecutive days in Las Vegas, they decided to return to Sin City for the Robbie Lawler vs. Carlos Condit welterweight championship.

10,300 spectators attended the event at the MGM Grand Garden Arena generating gate receipts totaling “just over $2 million,” announced UFC president Dana White during the event's post-fight press conference.

Those in attendance witnessed Lawler retain his welterweight title by a controversial split decision in the main event. The back-and-forth war with Condit earned Fight of the Night honors and set the bar for title fights to aspire to be in 2016.

Stipe Miocic solidified his place as top contender in the heavyweight division in the co-main event by finishing former champion Andrei Arlovski in 54 seconds. A short right hand stunned Arlovski and a combination finished him off.

The fight promotion returns to the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Feb. 6 when heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum faces former titleholder Cain Velasquez in a rematch. Miocic will likely face the winner in his next outing.
