UFC 195 Weigh-in Results: Welterweight Championship Promises Fireworks!

The Ultimate Fighting Championship kicked off 2016 on Friday with the UFC 195: Lawler vs. Condit weigh-in at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

In the main event, UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler puts his belt on the line for the second time when he squares off with former interim champion Carlos Condit.

Though he is a former champion, the opportunity to face Lawler for the unified belt isn't lost on Condit, who said, “I've always been impressed by Robbie and his skills. This is an incredible opportunity to put a highlight on my career. I have waited my entire life for this moment right here.”

Lawler showed just as much respect for Condit, saying, “Carlos is a heck of a fighter. He's a fierce fighter, but I'm here to stay. I'm the champ and I'm gonna showcase that I'm the best in the world.”

The UFC 195 co-main event features a pivotal bout between top heavyweights Andrei Arlovski and Stipe Miocic, which is a fight that might determine the next heavyweight championship challenger.

UFC 195 also highlights the return of former bantamweight challenger Michael McDonald, who hasn't fought in more than two years due to lingering injuries. He faces Masanori Kanehara in the FOX Sports 1 prelims headliner.

There's a marquee match-up topping the UFC Fight Pass portion of the card as well, as Dustin Poirier and Joseph Duffy face-off in a lightweight bout that was supposed to have headlined a Fight Night event in Ireland in 2015. That initial bout was cancelled at the last-minute due to Duffy suffering a concussion during one of his final training sessions, but after making weight on Friday, the final hurdle was cleared on their way to the Octagon.
