UFC Fight Night 63: Mendes vs. Lamas Gate and Attendance from Fairfax

In the midst of the March Madness of college basketball, which has been whittled down to the Final Four, the Ultimate Fighting Champion opted for a morning start time for its UFC Fight Night 63: Mendes vs. Lamas event, so as not to go head-to-head with one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

Returning to the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., UFC Fight Night 63 delivered a crowd of 5,417, and amassed a gate of $545,604, according to UFC officials at the post-fight press conference.

Despite a couple of controversial decisions, the fighters overwhelmingly delivered with main eventer Chad Mendes delivering a first-round finish over Ricardo Lamas. Mendes' first-rounder was one of several on the card.

Julianna Pena, Dustin Poirier, and Timothy Johnson all scored first-round stoppages in their fights, as well.
