UFC Fight Night 98 Attendance from Mexico City

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to Mexico City on Saturday, marking the third time in the company's history that it has held an event in the Mexican capital.

It was the first time, however, that the promotion held a UFC Fight Night event in Mexico City, which resulted in the lowest attended event of the three.

While the UFC's two previous events in the city – both pay-per-view events – drew crowds of 21,000-plus, Saturday's UFC Fight Night: dos Anjos vs. Ferguson notched an attendance of 11,460 at Arena Ciudad de México, according to promotion officials.

The card was highlighted by two of the UFC's top lightweights battling for a shot at title contention.

Former champion Rafael dos Anjos ended up on the losing side of a unanimous decision.

Putting his unique style into full effect in the latter rounds, Tony Ferguson scored a record-setting ninth consecutive win with his victory over dos Anjos, making him a strong contender for the next shot at the lightweight belt.
