UFC on FOX 18 Medical Suspensions: Ryan Bader, Several Others, Out Indefinitely

UFC light heavyweight contender Ryan Bader not only saw his championship dream derailed at UFC on FOX 18 on Saturday night, he also landed on the sidelines indefinitely.

The New Jersey State Athletic Control Board on Monday released the UFC on FOX 18: Johnson vs. Bader medical suspensions. Due to his knockout loss to Anthony Johnson in the main event, Bader is sidelined for a minimum of 60 days, but was also put on the indefinite list pending the outcome of a neurological exam and a CT head scan.

A handful of other fighters are also out indefinitely pending various exams, but overall, the list of medical suspensions was relatively short, and most suspension lasting 60 days or less.

  • Ryan Bader is suspended 60 days due to being knocked out, indefinitely pending a neurological exam, and indefinitely pending a CT head scan.

  • Josh Barnett is suspended 30 days due to facial laceration.

  • Bryan Barberena is suspended 45 days due to forehead laceration.

  • Sage Northcutt is suspended indefinitely pending x-rays of his right foot and toes, and 30 days due to forehead laceration.

  • Jake Ellenberger is suspended 45 days due to nasal laceration, and indefinitely pending left forearm evaluation.

  • Carlos Diego Ferreira is suspended indefinitely pending x-rays of his left ankle.

  • Rafael Natal is suspended indefinitely pending opthalmological clearance, and 30 days due to facial laceration.

  • Kevin Casey is suspended 30 days (14 days with no contact) due to TKO stoppage.

  • George Sullivan is suspended 60 days (30 days with no contact) due to being knocked out.

  • Matt Dwyer is suspended indefinitely pending an opthalmological exam.

  • Damon Jackson is suspended indefinitely pending an opthalmological exam, 30 days due to facial laceration, and indefinitely pending x-rays of his right foot.

  • Felipe Olivieri is suspended 30 days.
