UFC on FOX 19 Fighter Bonuses: Michael Chiesa's Fight-Ending Choke Scores $50,000

The Ultimate Fighting Championship landed in Tampa, Fla., on Saturday night for UFC on FOX 19: Teixeira vs. Evans. Despite the event being rattled by several late changes, including two last-minute fight cancellations, the fighters on the card gave some bonus worthy performances.

UFC president Dana White handed out the usual $50,000 bonuses, announcing the award winners at the UFC on FOX 19 post-fight press conference.

The main event between Glover Teixeira and Rashad Evans was made when the original headlining bout between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov fell apart due to injury. Teixeira made the most of the opportunity, scoring a first-round knockout over the former UFC light heavyweight champ and taking home on of the $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses.

Michael Chiesa struggled through the opening minutes of his preliminary headliner on Fox Sports 1, having trouble with Beneil Dariush's striking game, but he rebounded remarkably with a with a rear-naked choke finish early in the second round.

The victory earned Chiesa the other Performance of the Night bonus.

Omari Akhmedov and Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos won Fight of the Night honors in a wild, back-and-forth bout, that dos Santos ended with a flurry of punches and knees late in the third round.
