UFC on Fox 7 Weigh-in Results: Champion vs. Champion Match-up Gets Green Light

UFC on Fox 7 Fighter Salaries: Benson Henderson, Frank Mir, and Gilbert Melendez Top Payroll

The UFC on Fox 7: Henderson vs. Melendez weigh-ins took place Friday afternoon at the California Theatre in San Jose, Calif. The fight event itself will take place at the HP Pavilion on Saturday night.

The UFC on Fox 7 main event pits champion versus champion. UFC lightweight titleholder Benson Henderson puts his belt on the line against final Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez.

Henderson and Melendez both made weight on their first attempts.

Melendez stepped on the scale first, weighing 154 pounds. Henderson, however, requested a towel before he ever set foot on the scale, but hit the mark dead on at 155 pounds on his initial attempt.

Keeping with the UFC vs. Strikeforce theme, the co-main event features former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir against Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix champion Daniel Cormier.

Neither heavyweight pushed the 265-pound top end of the class, but Mir stepped on the scale at 257 pounds, while Cormier was 22 pounds less at 235 pounds.

Main card fighter Nate Diaz had to strip down, but made weight on his second attempt, making his bout with incoming Strikeforce fighter Josh Thomson official.
