Fines of up to £10,000 for organisers of illegal raves are set to come into force ahead of the bank holiday, as police call for social distancing after breaking up dozens of parties over the weekend.

As the UK death toll rose by six on Sunday, an illegal rave involving some 300 people was broken up in Huddersfield overnight and police in Birmingham attended more than 70 unlicensed street and house parties.

It comes as the Scottish Government announced that a number of lockdown restrictions will be lifted at midnight in Aberdeen. The city will be "broadly in line with the rest of Scotland" as of Monday, the Government said.

The five-mile travel limit, restrictions on gatherings and limitations on hospital and care home visits will be lifted, while non-hospitality businesses will also reopen.
