Ukrainian pilots in Denmark are already conducting flights with instructors on F-16 fighter jets, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yuri Ihnat, said during a briefing on Nov.21.

The count of Ukrainian pilots in Denmark that have shifted to F-16s is steadily rising each week as they carry out assignments given by their instructors, said Ihnat.

“Before this, Ukrainian pilots trained on NATO-standard light aircraft, which help facilitate the transition to F-16s... The next stage is independent flights, followed by combat missions to learn how to operate F-16s in a combat environment.”

Ihnat added that Ukrainian military personnel, in addition to Denmark, are undergoing training in the United Kingdom and the United States. This includes not only pilots but also ground personnel.

Ihnat told NV in an interview on Sept. 15 that experienced Ukrainian pilots would be trained to fly F-16s in the United States and Denmark, while younger pilots would undergo training in the United Kingdom.

He stated on Nov. 10 that some Ukrainian pilots had started training on western F-16 fighter jets in the air with instructors.

It was reported on Nov. 17 that training for Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets had already begun in the United States.
