Unai Emery confirmed Jacob Ramsey suffered a hamstring injury in Aston Villa's defeat against Liverpool, while Boubacar Kamara felt something late on.

The Villa manager is hopeful Kamara hasn't suffered an injury and only felt discomfort. Villa lost 2-0 at Anfield after goals from Darwin Nunez in the first half and then Mohamed Salah in the second half.

Ramsey was replaced just before half-time by John McGinn after suffering his hamstring injury, while Lucas Digne also picked up an issue but was able to continue deep into the second period.

Asked about Ramsey's condition afterwards, Emery said: "Hamstring. He was feeling something. Kamara as well he felt something on a run back he did.

"Of course, we are playing a lot of matches, but Ramsey didn’t play on Wednesday. But they [players] are always at risk of injuries.

"We have to accept it. They are injured now, Ramsey, hopefully not Kamara. They are coming back for the next match, hopefully Cash and Ross Barkley."

After scoring against Bournemouth two weeks ago, midfielder Barkley has missed the last four defeats, while Matty Cash suffered a calf injury in the second half of Villa's loss at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last week.

Villa will host Crystal Palace after the international break, before then playing six games against Juventus, Chelsea, Brentford, Southampton, RB Leipzig and Nottingham Forest in the space of 17 days.
