Unai Emery frets over Aston Villa ace injured on international duty
Aston Villa have landed a fresh injury blow after Amadou Onana was forced to leave the Belgium camp.
Onana has been extremely influential in Villa’s midfield alongside compatriot Youri Tielemans since joining from Everton during the summer transfer window. The 23-year-old scored Villa’s first goal of the season at West Ham in August and has managed three in total from 14 appearances.
The midfielder has 20 caps for Belgium, including 11 appearances for the Red Devils this calendar year, but he picked up an injury in the latest of those against Italy. Belgium were defeated 1-0 by Italy in the Nations League on Thursday.

Posting on their official X account, Belgium confirmed Onana is one of five players who won’t feature in their final Nations League game against Israel on Sunday. They said: “Onana, Lukaku, De Cuyper, Lavia and Theate are not fit for the game against Israel and left the squad.”

Villa will hope Onana’s issue isn’t anything too serious. The Villans have six games coming up in 21 days, starting with a match against Crystal Palace at Villa Park after the international break.
Unai Emery’s side have lost their last four games in all competitions, including a 2-1 defeat at home to Palace in the Carabao Cup in late October.
