Unai Emery is calling for calm over Aston Villa's slump in form, while also admitting his players need to take more care with the "small details" and manage their frustration.

Victory at Craven Cottage following the October international break registered the club's best start to a Premier League season for 26 years, but Villa are now without a win in a month. After a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth, Emery's side lost four on the spin in all competitions.

Despite sitting in ninth position in the league, Villa are only one point off third place heading into Saturday's clash against early strugglers Crystal Palace at Villa Park. Emery is not concerned about his side's results before the November international break, although he understands the importance of tomorrow's fixture.

"There are 38 matches in the Premier League," Emery responded when asked about his side's recent form. "Of course, sometimes we can get good results and sometimes not. We have to accept it. When we were finishing before the [October] break with good results, we were happy. We finished the last time with some bad results and we weren’t happy. We have to accept it.

"We have to manage our frustration and we have to try to keep balance in our process. We have to try to keep calm and we rested players who came back after playing for their national team.

"We are focusing on the match tomorrow like something very, very important. We are more or less with the points we were expecting, maybe more or maybe less.

"I think we are in the right way. Even losing, we are in the right way. Tomorrow is very important how we can respond at Villa Park."

Emery added: "I know if we are not playing more in the same way, being more demanding in the small details, we are not going to win tomorrow. I am working on it and we are trying to correct small details.

"We are playing in front of Villa Park in front of our supporters who are really motivated and they are looking forward to us respond tomorrow. It is a very great match tomorrow."
