West Brom Fan View: Bad luck or not, the Baggies' scoreless streak is not good enough

What on earth has happened to West Bromwich Albion? It feels like we’ve gone back in time, back to when Tony Pulis was in his first year in charge. Back then, the football was dire and so were the results, and I really thought we’d moved on from that horrible spell. But that’s exactly where we find ourselves at the moment.

The Baggies have now gone five games without a win, and incredibly, five games without scoring a single goal. More specifically, it’s 465 minutes since we’ve scored a goal in the Premier League.

The performances aren’t terrible, but the way we are approaching games is completely wrong, and the football on show is back to the old Pulis days, its absolutely dire.

I was one of the first to admit how well Pulis has done this season, even though I remain pessimistic, but the way we’ve tailed off in performances and results in recent months is just unacceptable.

Since reaching the 40 point mark on the 25th February, we’ve picked up just four points. Whichever way you look at it, thats a dreadful return.

It would be easy to blame Salomon Rondon for all our goalscoring troubles, he’s now gone 19 games without scoring and is clearly lacking a lot of confidence, but the service in to him has been appalling. To blame it all on Rondon would be incredibly unfair, it’s not like anyone else is scoring!

The result and performance against Leicester on Saturday was incredibly similar to our other recent home losses, there was plenty of hard work and endeavour, but there’s no end product and we don’t really ever look like scoring.

I know we are safe and there’s nothing to play for, but surely that means we can be play a bit more expansive football and at least try and do something. The way we are playing at the moment, you would think we were on the brink of relegation.

I’m afraid it doesn’t look like things will get better anytime soon either, we’ve got some really tough games coming up against Chelsea and Burnley away, we’ve lost all the games that we could have expected to win!

Come on Tony, let the players be a bit more creative and give the fans something to shout about.
