Unstoppable Swim Relay Team dominates the pool for the Night Hawks

Jan. 30—COLUMBUS- This past weekend the Night Hawks swim team competed in the Point Senior Invite. The Night Hawks relay swim team has emerged as an unstoppable force.

The Night Hawks secured a 1st place finish in 3 out of 4 mixed relay events. In the mixed 200 yard medley relay, the Night Hawks had a final time of 1:46.09, causing them to take first place with Life University finishing right behind them with a time of 1:46.60. The Night Hawks also came out victorious in the mixed 100 yard medley relay with a time of 48.92. Once again, the Night Hawks came on top with a win in the mixed 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:30.30. The Night Hawks fell short in the Mixed 100 yard freestyle relay, however, they still came out with 2nd place.

The relay squad, consists of seasoned veterans Diego Alonso, Aspen Shipp,Tim Brown and rising stars Jofre Mataro, along with Anna Van DeKeere. The group has become a serious threat to those competitors facing Thomas University.

Van DeKeere had finished first in the Women's 300 Yd. Freestyle with a time of 3:08.85. She was also a part of success in the Mixed 100 Yd. Medley Relay and the Mixed 400 Yd. Freestyle Relay. Mataro had seen victory in the Men's 50 yd. Backstroke with a time of 24.62. He also had helped the Night Hawks to victory in the Mixed 100 Yd. Medley Relay and the Mixed 400 Yd. Freestyle Relay.

The Night Hawks swim team will be back in action in Columbus, Ga. on February 8-10th for the Sun Conference Tournament.
