Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp says Victor Osimhen would be a perfect signing for Chelsea this summer as the Blues look to bolster their forward line this summer.

Enzo Maresca's side are looking to strengthen their options up front and are still in talks with Serie A side Napoli to strike a deal for the 25-year-old. Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli thought they had agreed a deal for the Super Eagles forward, but the Italian side are said to have changed the goalposts despite coming to an agreement.

It's now opened the door for Chelsea to strike a deal for the highly sought after forward and Redknapp believes he'd be perfect for the Blues. He told Sky Sports: "I think Osimhen is one that I’d like to see in the Premier League. He was fantastic for Napoli a couple of years ago when they won the league.

"He was unstoppable, there are lots of different possibilities when you play with someone like him. An out and out number nine. Great in the air, good in to feet. He would be good for the Premier League.

"But it feels like nothing has transpired there. It’s a difficult club with the money Napoli want for him, but I would like to see him. With Chelsea you just don’t know, they’ve got Jackson there.

"It feels like they haven’t quite got the trust in him and they want to bring in another nine just in case, to take the workload off him. He’ll always get you goals, it’s just the amount of goals that Chelsea want as a number nine.

"A little bit of backup in case there are any problems there. I would love to see Osimhen in the Premier League I think he’d be perfect, all his qualities would be just ideal."

Chelsea representatives are reportedly currently in Napoli to try and get a move for Osimhen over the line before Friday night's 11pm transfer deadline.
