Alex Moran’s much-anticipated debut for Tottenham Hotspur will have to wait, but two of Morgan’s World Cup-winning teammates are off and running in England’s Women's Super League.

National team veterans Tobin Heath and Christen Press each scored their first WSL goals for new club Manchester United on Sunday in a 4-2 victory over West Ham.

Heath and Press joined the Red Devils last month, while Morgan signed with Tottenham. Those deals came shortly after two other USWNT stars, Rose Lavelle and Sam Mewis, landed with Manchester City. (Mewis also scored Sunday in a 1-1 draw vs. Reading.)

Heath started Sunday’s match against West Ham, doubling Man United’s advantage to 2-0 with a blistering shot to the near post off a pass by English national team up-and-comer Alessia Russo, who scored twice herself.

West Ham later cut the lead to 3-2 through Houston Dash loanee Rachel Daly, but Press came off the bench to seal the win for United with a slick right-footed volley just before stoppage time.

Morgan was expected to make her first appearance for Spurs in last week’s 1-0 loss to United, but said in the days leading up to that match that she was not yet 100 percent fit. Morgan, who joined Tottenham on a year-long loan from the Orlando Pride of the U.S.-based National Women’s Soccer League, hasn’t played since the birth of her daughter Charlie, in May.

Hours before Spurs’ North London derby match against Arsenal on Sunday, Morgan wrote on Twitter that she’d suffered “a small setback” but was hoping “to get on the field with this team in the next few weeks.”

Tottenham sure could’ve used the 31-year old striker, who along with U.S. teammate Megan Rapinoe scored a tournament-best six goals at France 2019, on Sunday. By halftime, Spurs were down 5-0 to London rival Arsenal.
