Véronique Gautier Leaves Armani Beauty

PARIS — Véronique Gautier has left her role as global president of Armani beauty at L’Oréal.

“I feel privileged to have driven such iconic brands and talented people in executive functions in the luxury business, and today I am looking forward to this exciting chapter ahead, saying Sì to new beginnings!” she wrote in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday evening, winking to the women’s fragrance by that name she had launched. “Ready to give back, mentor and invest in this industry that I treasure.”

The executive had held the post at Armani for 13 years, and she spent 40 years in the beauty and luxury goods industries overall.

“Throughout my career, from Chanel beauty as a founding experience, Paco Rabanne at Puig, Cartier, Hermès parfums and Hermès leathergoods, Jean Paul Gaultier couture, up to Armani Beauty at L’Oréal, I have expressed what I cherish the most: revealing luxury brands and designers’ signature, driving growth and profitability by making them shine, creating aspirations and emotions through unique products, parti-pris, and innovative experiences,” she continued. “I have worked with what I praise the most: passion, freedom and trust.”

Gautier paid tribute to Giorgio Armani.

“Taking Armani beauty to new heights over the past decade has been an experience like no other,” she wrote. “I am proud of this journey where I could develop his unique beauty vision made of simplicity and sophistication — the best combo! Giorgio Armani is simply a legend and working with him has been a gift. Together, we drove growth and innovation to design a sustainable, global beauty powerhouse.”

Gautier tipped her hat, as well, to the Armani fashion team and beauty ambassadors, L’Oréal executives and perfumers with whom she worked.

In a WWD article last February, the executive said: “The Armani brand has something very interesting and quite paradoxical: It’s the champion of timelessness, but it’s also the champion of being always in tune with the times, with the now.”
