The salary cap continues to be an issue for English clubs ahead of next season, with former All Black Vaea Fifita the latest to depart according to reports.
With the limit dropping from £6.4m to £5m from the 2022/23 campaign, teams are having to off-load players to stay inside the cap.
Fifita only joined Wasps for the start of this season and made his debut in the Round Two clash against Bristol Bears.
The 11-times capped New Zealand international has been a key part of Lee Blackett’s squad since then, whether at lock or in the back-row, but is one of their higher earners.
According to the Telegraph, the ex-Hurricane will leave the Midlanders for Welsh region the Scarlets just one season into his lucrative three-year deal.
Malakai Fekitoa also set to depart
He joins another former All Black, Malakai Fekitoa, out of the exit door, with clubs around the world chasing the signature of the talented centre.
A number of sides in France’s Top 14 are purported to be interested in Fekitoa, while Japan also remains an option for the 29-year-old.
Elsewhere, the Daily Mail are claiming that Northampton Saints director of rugby Chris Boyd will leave the club at the end of the season.
Boyd has an option to extend his stay by an extra year but the 63-year-old wants to be closer to his family in New Zealand.
