Port Vale closed the gap on npower League Two leaders Gillingham to two points with a 3-1 win at struggling Aldershot.
Ben Williamson put the Valiants ahead but the Shots equalised just after the half-hour mark when Dani Lopez nodded home from close range. However, second-half goals from Ryan Burge and Jennison Myrie-Williams rounded off the perfect week for Vale, who celebrated coming out of administration with a victory over Bristol Rovers on Tuesday.
The result saw Micky Adams' side gain ground on Gillingham, who were held to a 1-1 draw at Accrington.
Cheltenham consolidated third spot with a 1-0 home win over bottom-of-the-table Barnet, Jeff Goulding blasting a late winner after Mark Byrne had missed a penalty for the visitors, while Southend moved up to fourth with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory against Rochdale.
Fifth-placed Bradford were held to a 3-3 draw at Bristol Rovers in an entertaining encounter which also saw two red cards and Fleetwood slipped a place to sixth after going down 1-0 to a last-gasp Sam Williams penalty at Dagenham & Redbridge.
Rotherham moved up to seventh with a 1-0 triumph at Exeter, Ian Sharps bagging the game's only goal before the Millers were reduced to 10 men by the stoppage-time dismissal of Mitchell Rose, while - at the bottom - Wycombe leapt from second bottom to 19th courtesy of a 3-0 home win over 10-man Burton.
Wimbledon remain precariously placed just about the relegation zone after going down to Kevin Ellison-inspired Morecambe. The midfielder netted after seven, 34 and 79 minutes, with a bad day for the visitors compounded by Paul McCallum's red card eight minutes from time.
Elsewhere, Jon-Paul Pittman hit the winner 11 minutes from time in Oxford's 2-1 triumph over Northampton - three minutes after Clive Platt looked to have earned the visitors a point when he cancelled out James Constable's opener.
The Cobblers' woes were compounded by the late dismissal of defender Clarke Carlisle, after two yellow card offences.
Finally, goals from Danny Stevens and Joe Oastler earned Torquay a 2-0 success at York while Marc Richards' strike midway through the second half secured a 1-0 win for Chesterfield at Plymouth.
