Vehicle left without front end after crash involving bus and van in Darlington

Pictures of a collision involving a bus and a van in Darlington that left a vehicle without a front end and traffic queued back have emerged.

The incident, which happened on Bondgate in the town at around 1.45pm on Wednesday (February 1), saw a van collide with a bus that was travelling down the stretch of road.

In the images, the front end of the van can be seen missing - while a man can be seen picking up debris from Bondgate.

In another image, a man in hi-vis can be seen talking to the van driver - while cars queue up behind the two vehicles.

While the collision left the van without a piece of its front, it's been revealed that emergency services did not attend the incident - and there are no statements to share from the police or ambulance service.

It's believed that no one was injured in the crash and the two vehicles were quickly moved from the scene.

At this time, it's not known what caused the collision but The Northern Echo has contacted Arriva for a comment about the incident.
