Veterans join 100 club

WTCC General Manager Marcello Lotti has inducted a small group of veterans into the 100-Race Club, a hall of fame reserved for those drivers who took the start in more than 100 WTCC races.

The first group of “ultra-centenarians” includes – in order of seniority – Tom Coronel and Rob Huff (both with 166 starts out of the 168 races held from 2005), Alain Menu (165), Gabriele Tarquini (164), Yvan Muller (146), Stefano D’Aste (139), Tiago Monteiro (125) and Franz Engstler (107).

The inductees were presented with special stickers to be sported on their helmets and cars that will identify them as members of the club.

The 100-Race Club also includes a few members at-large who are currently racing in other series: Andy Priaulx (132), Augusto Farfus (131), Jordi Gené (129), Nicola Larini and Joerg Mueller (107) and Alessandro Zanardi (105).
