Former Leicester and England striker Emile Heskey believes the Foxes can win the Champions League.
Leicester take on Atletico Madrid on Wednesday in the first leg of their quarter-final and, while Craig Shakespeare's side are seen as underdogs, Heskey says the club should not be overlooked in favour of more established European giants like Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
“I wouldn’t bet against them, that’s for sure," Heskey said.
"They’ve shown time and time again over the last couple of seasons that they are capable of doing whatever they put their mind to, with some great performances to defy the odds. This is a tournament they’d really like to win so I think they could do it.”
"I think because of the story, winning the Champions League would definitely rival the league victory. Already this year Leicester have put themselves up against the best in Europe, who play in this competition year in and year out, teams who know and understand the competition well.”
While the Vicente Calderon Stadium can be an intimidating ground, Heskey believes the Premier League club can come away with a positive result to set themselves up well for the second leg.
Heskey added: “I think the first leg will be a tight and cagey affair away from home but I definitely think Leicester have a good chance of scoring [with] the likes of Mahrez, Vardy, Gray, Albrighton. I think they’ve got more than enough firepower to get at least one goal against Atletico Madrid.
"I’m going for a 1-1 draw in the first leg, then Leicester can bring Atletico back to the King Power and put on a good display in front of a home crowd.”
