Former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel scored one of the goals of the season for Fenerbahce on Friday evening.
The 32-year-old, who left Liverpool on unsavoury terms after falling out with Jurgen Klopp, picked up the ball inside his own half, beating four defenders with pace before smashing a 30-yard strike low and hard past Konyaspor's goalkeeper.
Despite the fact that his goal equalised the scores at 1-1, Fenerbahce went on to lose the game 3-2 as the visitors scored either side of half-time.
The result leaves Fenerbahce in a sorry position in terms of the title-race, as they are now 10 points behind league-leaders Besiktas, who have a game in hand.
And now we bring you a long-range solo goal from....Martin Skrtel?! pic.twitter.com/tmQEhewdBw— Planet Fútbol (@si_soccer) March 17, 2017
Skrtel has made 17 appearances for the Turkish side following his £5m switch from Liverpool last summer, but his nine-year spell at Anfield was tarnished by sour relations with German manager Jurgen Klpopp.
Upon leaving the club Skrtel took to Instagram to criticise Klopp, calling him a di**head before writing that he hopes Klopp sees the negative comments.
