Australian singer-songwriter Paul Kelly has enjoyed a richly diverse career over the past three decades, having put out 21 studio albums as well as several film soundtracks and two live albums, as well as an induction into the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame in 1997.

Kelly is poised to release his latest album, Life Is Fine, on August 11 — a sonic nod to his ’80s past — and Yahoo Music is pleased to debut the video for lead track “Firewood and Candles.”

The rocking song (and dramatic video) is a fine introduction to the collection, which Kelly describes as an “upbeat record.” He further describes his approach in creating the set: ““At first I worried about Life Is Fine as a title because life is not fine for everyone. But I like the original meaning of fine, as in life is a fine thread. We never know what is going to happen the very next minute, or what is just around the corner.'”

Kelly will be touring with a full band in support of the album starting September 17. If you’d like to keep up with his schedule, check here.
