Kevin Strootman's antics in the Rome derby have made the midfielder a laughing stock amongst fans, after the Dutchman's blatant dive was cause for controversy against Lazio.
In a weekend marred with controversial penalty decisions, Strootman's dive may take the cake for most outrageous.
The Premier League saw the likes of Leroy Sane and Marcus Rashford take a lot of flak for their 'deception' of referees in their matches, but the two can rest easy knowing that Strootman has outdone them.
With his team surprisingly trailing in the derby match, the 27-year-old found himself in possession in Lazio's box.
After an awful slide tackle from Wallace Fortuna dos Santos - awful because it was so far away from both the player and ball - Strootman dropped to the ground like a sack of potatoes, despite no contact being made whatsoever; which is quite clear to see in the video below:
Quite literally the flying Dutchman.
With Strootman having successfully fooled the referee, Roma's Daniele De Rossi comfortably levelled the score from the spot.
However, cheaters never prosper and justice eventually rang true. It took until the 50th minute for Lazio to regain their lead through Dusan Basta, but the tie was put to bed when Keita Balde Diao scored his second of the game with five minutes left to play.
Furthermore, to really rectify the cheating that took place on the cusp of half time, stoppage time saw Roma's Antonio Rudiger receive a red card to really add insult to injury.
Quite rightly too.
