Remember David Villa? Of course you do. The ex-Valencia and Spain striker was one of the most in-demand marksmen earlier in his career, and has netted numerous goals wherever he has gone.
Now, Villa plies his trade in the MLS with Manchester City's sister club New York City, where he can be found tearing up American defences instead. The 35-year-old, though, hasn't lost any of his goalscoring prowess as he demonstrated in Friday's 2-0 victory over Philadelphia Union.
Picking up a ball cleared to the halfway line, Villa... actually, let's not spoil it. Just watch this majesty for yourself:

What. A. Strike. There must be something in the water in Spain as Xabi Alonso used to pull off shots like that all the time.
Naturally, football spectators flocked to Twitter to express their amazement at the sheer audacity of Villa's lobbed 50-yard effort. And who can blame them?

Alright, so the MLS isn't on a par with somewhere like La Liga or the Premier League, but very few players could pull that off. New York City are lucky Villa is one of those people!
