Could N'Golo Kante have stopped Leicester enduring the torrid campaign they have this season if he had stayed at the King Power?
The easy answer seems to be no. While the Frenchman has helped transform Chelsea's side into one capable of winning the Premier League, when a team is playing badly it takes more than one player to turn things around.
Leicester have now have form again under new coach Craig Shakespeare but it comes as too little, too late in terms of their Premier League title defence. They will almost certainly stay up after five successive victories but much has been made of the sale of Kante. Could he have made a difference this season?
According to one YouTube star, the answer is yes. The 'BMOnus - FIFA 17 Career Mode' account decided to see whether Kante would have helped Leicester's title defence through a FIFA simulation, and it seems that, while they came up short in that regard, the club would still have managed to qualify for the Champions League.
The club ultimately finished fourth, ahead of Tottenham, Manchester City and Manchester United, but unfortunately the Foxes drew Real Madrid in the Champions League and were dumped out of the European competition.
It seems unlikely Leicester will ever qualify for the Champions League again, but apparently Kante would have made the difference while other heroes, liked Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy, stuttered during the first half of the season.
