"We are focusing how we can improve and how we can analyse the way we were doing two years ago even. Of course, we are trying to get our best form through our players individually and collectively.

"I am happy how we are doing this season. Our demands increase progressive and we are being very demanding in every competition, but we have to try to keep balance. Now we are going to face Chelsea, of course it will be difficult and those three points would be very important to set again our place in the table.
"The most important thing is to build our team and try to feel comfortable and strong. We have to correct some mistakes we are doing, but the players, the team and our idea is in good balance."
What have you made of Maresca’s start as a Premier League manager?
"Very well. He did a fantastic job at Leicester. The opportunity he has now is really being very good as well. Of course, Chelsea is Chelsea. With the players they have and how the club is, the coach is managing very well in different competitions.
"They are separating the Premier League and Conference League. The Premier League is their first objective. I think it is being intelligent. Now they are in the table progressively getting better. They have a three points advantage on us. Sunday is a very important match, [for] how we can be close or not to them."
You've won on your last two trips to Chelsea in the league - how confident do you feel?
"We are Aston Villa and we are in a process. We are more or less getting our high demands. To be consistent is our next challenge. We won there two times and drew in the FA Cup last year, drawing there 0-0. Now it is a different match, some different players, they have a different coach.
"They feel comfortable and they are more or less feeling consistency, progressively getting better. The challenge is this Sunday. The thing we have in our mind is to face a team who are more contenders than us to get into the top seven. We want to face them and fight as well to compete with the teams who are top seven contenders. We were better one month ago, but we still have the possibilities to be there."
Does the return of Kamara give you a selection headache in midfield?
"Kamara is getting better. He had a small injury. He was not available one match before. He was feeling comfortable and I decided to replace him the last 20 minutes [against Juventus] because he needs minutes, but as well to be careful with the minutes he is playing.
"If everything is going well, if he comes through tomorrow well then my idea is to use the better player on Sunday as well and one of them is Kamara. With Kamara, Barkley, Onana and Tielemans I am happy. I want each player to compete in each position we have. In the middle we now have players we are happy with."
What is the latest on the injury front?
"The last match we weren’t with Onana and Ramsey. Ramsey is out as well [for Chelsea], but Onana, it depends how he is progressing. In case he can train tomorrow. We will see."
After a Champions League game, you’ve been flat in the next Premier League match. How can you solve that problem?
"We are not thinking about it. We are trying to focus the match with the players who are available and ready to play. We are getting experiences. Last year and this year playing in Europe and in the Premier League.
'We have to try to use our experience making decisions and how we can rest better, train better and focus on the next match. After Wednesday we are resting today and we worked yesterday. We have to be ready and we have to be 100 per cent in everything to play on Sunday."
