Vince McMahon's former prime time wrestling rival has given his verdict on a sensational WWE comeback for the former boss as rumours grow of a new entertainment venture.

The 79-year-old, who is the subject of recent Netflix documentary series Mr McMahon, is no longer part of the professional wrestling giant and is under federal investigation over the allegations made by former employee Janel Grant, which he has denied.

Regardless, the controversial mega wrestling promoter is plotting a comeback and is starting up a new company, with several former WWE executives said to be jumping on board. The ‘entertainment hub company’ aims to financially back, develop and produce movie and television projects. The company is not expected to involve plans similar to WWE, but instead focus on fiction and nonfiction projects. Several WWE alumni are already working with McMahon to get the company prepped with the idea of officially unveiling it if/once his legal issues are resolved.

Eric Bischoff weighed in on the announcement in a recent interview on the Wrestling Shoot Interviews Youtube channel. Bischoff is best known for serving as senior vice president of World Championship Wrestling (WCW) during their box office TV ratings battle with WWE during the 1990s. In a shock move, Bischoff later joined WWE's Raw as the on-screen general manager years later when McMahon bought out the bankrupt WCW.

When quizzed if Vince McMahon would return to WWE at some point in the future, Bischoff replied: "No absolutely not. It will never happen."

Explaining what is next on the cards for McMahon, he explained: "I have got a little bit of inside information that I believe to be credible. Vince has purchased, according to this source who is in the entertainment business, property in Santa Monica, California. One of the more expensive commercial areas in California. He has purchased some production facilities. He has hired a couple of people. One of them is Kristen Prouty, who was formerly associated with WWE. She was based in Los Angeles and handled a lot of PR work. She had access to celebrities and, whenever WWE needed someone from Hollywood for a program and didn’t have a direct connection, Kristen was the one to make it happen and negotiate deals."

"One of Vince’s projects is his perspective on the Monday Night Wars. According to what I’ve heard, he’s got a version that nobody else has ever heard before, which I find fascinating. Maybe, from Vince’s perspective, there were things about that era that haven’t been discussed. I don’t want to s*** on it, but man, you’re talking about a subject that’s been done to death! But that’s one thing.”

McMahon resigned as executive chairman of WWE parent company TKO in January 2024 after allegations of sex trafficking and abuse, while Grant’s lawsuit was put on hold in May at the request of the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York to allow for a federal investigation. He has denied all allegations. Bischoff added: "I don't know much about their business plan at this point. I think, based on what I've heard, Vince is waiting on [both legal suits to be resolved] before he comes out and publicly starts talking about what he's doing."
