How to Hear Your Real Voice: TikTok is freaking out over this trick to hear what your 'real' voice sounds like

If you’re a normal, self-deprecating human being, you probably hate the sound if your own voice.

Well, bad news. A voice actor is going viral after explaining how to hear your “real” voice – that is, the one other people hear when you talk.

Bob Feeser, who does voice acting for a living, shared his instructions on TikTok. The clip has drawn more than 3.2 million views — and has plenty of commenters cringing at themselves.

“This is why you don’t like your own voice. Hearing your voice from another perspective is unfamiliar,” Feeser wrote in his video’s caption.

In the clip, Feeser explains that the voice you hear inside your head is influenced by the sound reverberating inside your skull.

“You’re hearing a distorted version of your voice all the time,” Feeser says in the video.

The actor then gives his solution: To hear your “real” voice, you can place your hands on the sides of your head — between your jawbone and your ears.

“That is what you sound like to other people,” he concludes.

TikTok users were amazed by the news, although many were upset to learn what they “really” sound like.

“Ugh, why do I sound like that,” one user bemoaned.

So … I am LOUD,” another joked.

“Thanks I hate it more [now],” another added.

Some commenters were far more positive, though.

“This actually helped me so much with my confidence,” another user wrote.
