Player-manager Gareth Ainsworth helped Wycombe Wanderers continue their climb away from the foot of npower League Two with a 2-0 win over fellow strugglers Bristol Rovers.
Joel Grant gave Wanderers an 11th-minute lead and Ainsworth's second in the 55th minute clinched Wycombe's win, while Rovers' woes were increased when they had Matthew Lund sent off in stoppage time.
Rochdale's play-off push was jolted by a 3-2 defeat at home to York, who streaked into a 3-0 half-time lead through a double from Michael Potts and one for Jason Walker. Rhys Bennett and a Bobby Grant penalty briefly gave Dale hope.
Torquay beat Dagenham & Redbridge 2-1 at Plainmoor. Danny Stevens opened the scoring on 36 minutes and, after Matthew Saunders equalised on 73 for the visitors, Abu Ogogo's own goal gave the Gulls the points.
