WATCH: Blues flank Tom Robinson scores STUNNING solo try in Brumbies defeat
Blues star Tom Robinson showed he is so much more than just a bruising runner with ball in hand in his side’s 20-25 loss to the Brumbies in the Super Round.
Robinson received the ball around the halfway line, with not much happening in front of him. That was until he stepped hard inside, beating the defender in front of him. Suddenly there was a pocket of space to work with, and the flank pinned his ears back and charged for the line.
It was a thing of beauty to see a mountain of a man in full flight, skinning defenders as he charged over 50 metres to score one of the tries of the round. Take a bow, Robinson.
Earlier in the replay of last season’s semi-final, the Blues got off to a horror start with two yellow cards, a penalty and a penalty try conceded in the opening eight minutes, handing the Brumbies a dream opening to an intriguing match-up.

The Blues responded quickly enough as Ricky Riccitelli crossed for a try in the 13th minute, as Beauden Barrett was on hand to add the extras from the tee.
The seesaw of momentum would swing back in the Brumbies’ favour as slick hands saw Andy Muirhead score five minutes later, with scrum-half Ryan Lonergan making no mistake off the tee.
Barrett added six more points from the tee, with Lonergan kicking one of his own in the 27th minute before Robinson’s solo brilliance three minutes later. Once again, there was no mistake from the tee.
Lachlan Lonergan would score the final try of the game five minutes from the break as the extras were added.
The gruelling clash would remain scoreless in the second half as the Brumbies got their revenge against their rivals.
