Birmingham City will discover on Friday who they'll be playing in the round of 32 in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy, which represents the first opportunity for the club to clinch some silverware in what is shaping up to be a very promising campaign.

Blues breezed through the group stages having collected a point against Walsall but having heavily beaten both Shrewsbury Town and Fulham's under 21s. They finished second in their group behind Walsall and as a result will take up a ball in draw B of the southern section of the draw.

Chris Davies' men will learn on Friday evening who they'll face. The draw will take place live on Sky Sports, in the build up to Friday night football and Plymouth Argyle v Watford in the Championship. Sky Sports' Emma Saunders will host the draw, which is decided by pundits Jobi McAnuff and Jamie Mackie. Coverage begins on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football at 19:30.

The draw is divided into four sections; there is northern section draw A and B, and the southern equivalent. Blues are in southern section group B, as mentioned. Because the draw is still seeded and regionalised, Blues can play one of four clubs - those sides being Colchester United, Burton Albion, Exeter City and Cheltenham Town. Wimbledon, Stevenage and Cambridge United are the other runners up which complete the pot.
