Wallabies second-row Nick Frost showed off his skills in the loose as he went fully 80 metres for a sublime individual try during the Brumbies’ defeat to the Hurricanes in Wellington.

Despite the Canberra outfit succumbing to a 32-19 loss to the ‘Canes on Friday, Frost reminded everyone of his brilliance in open field.

He is incredibly quick for a big man and pounced on an error by Aidan Morgan to intercept the fly-half’s attempted grubber through and sprint clear.

Cam Roigard desperately tried to get pack to reel in the flying Frost, but the Brumbies lock had too much speed for the Hurricanes scrum-half.

That score from the 23-year-old levelled the scores at 14-14, after Ardie Savea had given the hosts the lead after trading passes with hooker Asafo Aumua.

Frost actually opened the game’s account, once again displaying his pace and running ability by keeping up with the searing pace of Corey Toole, who sped down the left and found number eight Charlie Cale.

Cale then in turn fed the rampaging second-row and he crossed the whitewash to give the Brumbies a 7-0 advantage.

The Hurricanes would almost immediately equalise via Devon Flanders’ converted try before Savea moved the ‘Canes in front.

Frost then completed a thrilling half-hour by touching down for that stunning aforementioned breakaway effort, but the home side would go into the break ahead thanks to Jordie Barrett’s penalty on the stroke of half-time.

Jason Holland’s men then controlled much of the second period, opening an eight-point buffer via Roigard, but the visitors battled throughout.

Rory Scott went over to reduce the arrears to 22-19 and give them hope, but the Hurricanes pulled away through Barrett’s three-pointer and Morgan’s decisive try.

The Brumbies did earn a losing bonus-point as Toole touched down and Ryan Lonergan added a penalty but the Hurricanes came away with a 32-27 victory in this Super Rugby Pacific clash, meaning Frost’s superb individual try was in vain.
