Just over 12 months on from what proved to be a tricky Carabao Cup second-round tie against League Two Wimbledon at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea take on Barrow in their bid to reach the fourth round this time. As the first match played in the competition this season, Enzo Maresca will be hopeful of securing a safe passage through.

Boosted by strong recent results away to Bournemouth and West Ham, Chelsea get a run of four straight home matches underway when they welcome Barrow to Stamford Bridge. Looking to avoid a giant killing, Maresca has his sights on rotating a talented squad.

Chelsea reached the final of the League Cup last season only to lose out to a depleted Liverpool side in the final. They also went all the way in 2022 under Thomas Tuchel before being defeated on penalties to the same opposition.

Maresca is not looking that far in advance as he keeps one eye on Premier League commitments against Brighton to come on Saturday but will be plotting a route through the Carabao Cup in an attempt to win a first bit of silverware for over two years for the club.

Here, football.london has all the details on how to follow the match.

When is Chelsea vs Barrow and what time is kick off?

Chelsea's Carabao Cup third-round match against Barrow is scheduled to kick off at 7:45pm UK time on Tuesday, September 24 at Stamford Bridge. The other ties from the League Cup on the night are Manchester City vs Watford, Walsall vs Leicester, and Wycombe vs Aston Villa.
