The London Marathon has many staples, from funny outfits to heart-warming stories, and the proposal is right up there with the best of them.
So it came as little surprise to see at least one marathon runner, in this case Liam Jolliff, get down on one knee to ask his girlfriend for her hand in marriage after completing the run.
That’s a long time to think about how to ask the question, isn’t it?
Sarah Binns was the one on the receiving end of the proposal – but did she say yes?
Well, at first all we hear is a lot of screaming – it seems everyone’s seriously excited about this proposal.
Sarah then has a question of her own, namely: “What are you doing?” Well, he was running the marathon, now he’s proposing, Sarah.
After a short while, Jolliff gets an answer: Sarah says yes, which sparks jubilant scenes among the crowd – you wouldn’t know if they’d just got engaged, or if their favourite football team had just scored in the cup final.
Congrats to the pair of them – and remember, marriage is a marathon, not a sprint.
