WATCH: Morne Steyn nails a MONSTER 50:22 in his 150th Bulls game
Saturday’s United Rugby Championship (URC) match between the Bulls and Stormers marked a significant milestone for Morne Steyn, who earned his 150th cap for the side.
The veteran flyhalf came off the bench in the 19-23 loss to the Stormers, playing the final 25 minutes after replacing Chris Smith.
Shortly after coming off, the 38-year-old showed no signs of slowing down, executing a monstrous 50:22 from his own 22.

His side did not score from the resulting lineout after the kick and would lose the closely-fought encounter, failing to celebrate the flyhalf’s milestone with a win.
Morne Steyn made his Super Rugby debut for the Pretoria-based side in 2005 and made a total of 129 appearances in the competition scoring 1 488 points, still the second most in the competition’s history.
In 2013, he left the club to join Top 14 outfit Stade Francais and would go on to play over 130 matches for the French side.
He returned to Pretoria in 2020, and while he did add to his Super Rugby tally that year, he has played 20 URC matches for the side and two Champions Cup games.
He has also played over 70 Currie Cup matches for the Blue Bulls.
Recording breaking crowd sees Stormers win
The victory for the Stormers saw them snap the Bulls‘ 12-game winning run at Loftus Versveld.
The Stormers have now won the last five games between the two sides, including last season’s URC final.
41 205 fans attended the match between the two South African heavyweights, setting a new attendance record for a Southern Hemisphere URC fixture. It was also the largest crowd at a Bulls game since 2009.
Jake White also marked his return to the coaching box in the game. White returned after a month’s leave after he underwent emergency surgery and spent a week in intensive care to save him from a blood clot that damaged his small intestine.
