WATCH: Suliasi Vunivalu shows impressive vision in demolition of Western Force
Read like a book! Code-hopping wing Suliasi Vunivalu showed off his vision on his own line with a brilliant intercept try in the Reds’ 71-20 destruction of the Western Force.
The scores had already tipped in favour of the Reds, but the Force were finding some rhythm on attack and were threatening the Queenslanders’ line. However, Vunivalu was wise to the overlap on the outside, cut in and intercepted a pass from the base of the ruck and cantered across the field to score.
What was alarming was that Vunivalu never looked to be close to full speed as he coasted in for a brilliant try.
The scoring started early in the game as Reds star Ryan Smith crossed in the seventh minute before Jordan Petaia added a try of his own a minute later. Tom Lynagh made no mistake from the tee for both scores.

Force responded through Zach Kibirige in the 12th minute with a missed conversion from Bryce Hegarty, who would kick a penalty two minutes later. Lynagh would cancel out the three points with a penalty of his own four minutes later.
Robust number eight Harry Wilson would crash over in the 24th minute, followed by Force’s Folau Fainga’a seven minutes later. Reds’ Joshua Flook rounded the scoring for the first period with a try on the stroke of halftime.
The floodgates opened in the second period thanks to a red card to Oliver Callan and a yellow to Jackson Pugh. The Reds scored tries through Matthew Faessler, Filipo Daugunu (brace), Vunivalu, Liam Wright and a second from Flook as the Queenslanders ran riot. Lynagh would kick two conversions in the second period, with veteran James O’Connor adding four.
Force scored a consolation try through Pugh in the 72nd minute, as the result saw the Reds score their biggest total in Super Rugby history.
It was a day to forget for the Western Australians, who ended up losing 20-71 against the rampant Reds.
