Dimitri Payet, Marseille v Guingamp

We kick things off with a stunner from former West Ham star Dimitri Payet, who scored Marseille’s second goal against Gunigamp with an outrageous side-foot volley. Marseille went to win with two more goals….

Florian Thauvin, Marseille v Guningamp

One of which was this stunner from Payet’s teammate Thauvin. The former Newcastle winger struggled in the Premier League but he’s been a revelation back in France as this goal shows. OM’s 4-0 win lifted them to second in the table behind perennial powerhouse PSG.

Arjen Robben, Bayern Munich v Bayer Leverkusen

German giants Bayern Munich recovered from an early Bayer Leverkusen penalty to keep their 100 per cent start to their season alive – and keep Leverkusen winless. Bayern equalised through Corentin Tolisso before Robben put them into the lead with this volley.

Erick Gutierrez, PSV v ADO Den Haag

To the Netherlands now, and Eredivisie leaders PSV won their fifth match in a row with a 5-0 drubbing of ADO Den Hagg. The pick of the goals went to this strike from Mexican midfielder Erick Gutierrez, who was making his debut no less.

Nabil Fekir, Lyon v Caen

What a weekend it was for dead ball enthusiasts in France with three stunning free kicks, headlined by one-time Liverpool target Nabil Fekir’s effort against Caen. Honourable mentions also go to Antonin Bobichon’s strike for Nimes against Bordeaux and Amiens’ Saman Ghoddos against Lille.
