Watford Captain Troy Deeney Becomes Owner of Embarrassing Club Record Following Crystal Palace Loss

Since Watford returned to the Premier League two seasons ago, Troy Deeney has been the club's hero on many occasions. However, one particular development from the Hornets' 1-0 loss at Crystal Palace has left the striker with a rather unfortunate honour.

The club captain, who reached the 100 goal milestone for his side earlier this season, put the ball through his own net at Selhurst Park, a goal which proved the difference in the bottom of the table clash.

The own goal was in fact Troy Deeney's second of sort in the top flight, meaning he has scored in the wrong end more times than any other Watford player in the history of the Premier League.

It's hardly something the 28-year-old will lose sleep over, but he definitely will not be getting too close to his own goal any time soon.
