James Rew and Josh Thomas then added a combined 58 for the fourth wicket.

When both dropped in quick succession, along with Will Christophers, the Saints were 145 for six.

At this point, Jack Harding with 12 and Ollie Heard, who made an unbeaten 27, added some late-order runs but the Saints fell 60 runs short on 210 for nine at the end of their innings.

In the Somerset Cricket League Premier Division, Saints Seconds travelled to Lympsham and Belverdere.

The home team posted 259 for seven from their 45 overs.

Thanks to an impressive 57 by Martin Jenkins and a thorough partnership between Jordan Clapp and Dan Godfrey, the Saints lightened their load, reaching 261 for two in 44 overs.

For the Saints A side in the SCL, Divison Four, the team played against Lydford Sports, where the hosts made 235 for eight.

Successful Saints A players included Ben Walford and Charlie Williams who each claimed two wickets.

Finally, for the Saints B side, who played at home against Stoke St Gregory, Alvin Purushan scored an impressive 37, and the Saints' Matt Pringle scored a final three wickets for 25.

Unfortunately, Saints B ended 111 all out in 37.5 overs, with Steve Pimm top scoring on 49, and Adam Cramp securing three for 17.
