The Flying Antelopes went ahead to topple the Peace Boys 1-0 courtesy of an Etor 22nd minute strike.
But the former Enyimba winger confessed that the exploits of the highflying Jos outfit made them apprehensive before they took to the pitch.
“It was a tough encounter and we were happy to win the game. We were very apprehensive before the start of the match because we knew that we needed a home win and what we have heard about Plateau United didn’t give us more hope that it will be possible,” Etor told Goal.
"We were able to hold them down and seized the opportunity presented to us.
“We still have a match at hand and it is our personal conviction that a good game against Gombe United will take us further away from the drop zone and we won’t toy with the game.
"We have now shifted our attention to the tie with them and are very optimistic of securing a good result in Gombe.”
Rangers moved out of the relegation zone and are now 16th in the log with 22 points from games.
