West Ham co-owner David Sullivan splashed out £100,000 to lay on a private jet to ensure Michail Antonio returned from international duty in time to prepare for their trip to Wolves on Saturday.

Antonio scored two goals in two appearances for Jamaica, the second a stunning long-range strike against the United States on Tuesday.

And the club have pulled out all the stops to ensure that the striker gets back in time to prepare for Saturday’s match.

West Ham manager David Moyes has been open about his concerns surrounding the travel involved for Antonio to join up with Jamaica, having declared for the Caribbean nation earlier this year.

"It has been a pleasure Jamaica, I've enjoyed every minute of it," Antonio said in an Instagram video as he walked to the waiting jet.

"But it's time to get home, back to West Ham. I'd like to thank Dave Sullivan for sorting this out so I can get back earlier and prepare right for the game on Saturday."

Every little counts when it comes to preparation for West Ham ahead of the coming week, which sees them face trips to Wolves, Rapid Vienna and Manchester City in the space of eight days.

"It’s kind of new to us as a club," defender Aaron Cresswell said of the schedule. "The challenge of playing so many games in such a short space of time, but it’s one we’re relishing and we’re playing well and that always helps."
