West Ham’s winning run has been brought to an end as Raul Jimenez’s goal dealt the Hammers a first defeat in eight games across all competitions.

Jarrod Bowen headed the first chance of the game wide from Aaron Cresswell’s cross but from there it was all Wolves.

The Hammers were fortunate to be level at the break but it didn’t take their hosts too long to make their dominance count following the restart. Lukasz Fabianski had twice saved well from Daniel Podence, but was too slow to stop Jimenez’s opener.

Wolves drove forward through Nelson Semedo who played to the feet of Jimenez, the Mexican fired wide to Podence before dropping off Tomas Soucek on the edge of the area and firing first time into the bottom corner from the return ball.

Moyes sent on Manuel Lanzini, Nikola Vlasic and Andriy Yarmolenko to try and find a leveller and while the Hammers finally put some pressure on Wolves they never truly looked like threatening Jose Sa’s goal.

Here is how Jack Rosser rated the Hammers...

Lukasz Fabianski 6

Made two superb saves from Podence but could do nothing about Jimenez’s winner.

Ben Johnson 5

Not his best outing since taking Vladimir Coufal’s place in the side. Caught on the ball a couple of times and unable to make an impact going forward.

Craig Dawson 5

Struggled at the back a little in stepping in for Angelo Ogbonna and was poor on the ball.

Kurt Zouma 6

Defended well enough but West Ham looked shaky at the back without Ogbonna’s leadership. Zouma must step up and take that responsibility.

Aaron Cresswell 5

Dragged out of position in the build up to Jimenez’s goal and couldn’t get going in attack.

Declan Rice 6

Struggled to have any impact for 70 minutes but managed to wrestle some control over the game late on,

Tomas Soucek 5

A complete passenger for the most part. West Ham’s midfield is their driving force but it was not clicking today.

Jarrod Bowen 6

Probably West Ham’s brightest player going forward. Should have done better with his first half header and fired over with his final kick.

Said Benrahma 5

Caused a couple of problems out wide in the first half and worked hard off the ball but ineffective after the break.

Pablo Fornals 5

Instructed to drop in deep as a wing-back off the ball in the first half and as a result had no impact going forward. Wasteful on the ball.

Michail Antonio 5

Two goals for Jamaica over the break have failed to spark Antonio into life. One goal in eight for the Hammers now.

Substitutes

Manuel Lanzini 6

Brought a bit of life to West Ham on the ball but not effective enough.

Nikola Vlasic 6

A couple of smart turns but doesn’t look confident enough to make an impact at the moment.

Andriy Yarmolenko 5

Evidence as to why Moyes needs a striker to support Antonio, Yarmolenko not much of a threat from the bench.
