West Ham had to come from behind before eventually getting the job done against FCSB.
Andrei Cordea put the visitors in front, before Jarrod Bowen netted from the spot and Emerson Palmieri scored to put the Hammers in front.
Michail Antonio also got on the scoresheet in the closing stages to give West Ham a 3-1 win in their opening Europa Conference League group-stage match.
Alphonse Areola 6
No chance with goal and smart off his line in first-half stoppage time to close down chance for second.
Vladimir Coufal 6
One dreadful cross after fine Paqueta pass drew groans, but set up fine late chance, which Antonio scuffed.
Angelo Ogbonna 6
Another 90 minutes in the tank for the Italian, who made one crucial second-half recovery after almost being caught out.
Thilo Kehrer 6
Has featured in every game since arrival from PSG and looks assured.
Caught ball-watching under high cross for Cordea chance and did not learn lesson as same player opened scoring. Booked, but then had hand in penalty and scored winner.
Declan Rice 6
Presence of the ultra-conservative Downes gave him licence to drive forward.
Flynn Downes 6
Finally handed a first start since summer arrival from Swansea. Kept things simple in possession and made several well-timed challenges.
Maxwel Cornet 5
Caught a boot in the face from Scamacca early on and then clattered by Daniel Vlad to win dubious penalty. Second collision forced him off after quiet showing.
Manuel Lanzini 5
Has suddenly found himself a long way down the pecking order after summer arrivals and did little in 45 minutes here to suggest he will be back in the Premier League XI soon.
Said Benrahma 6
Linked nicely with Scamacca at times and saw early shot well blocked before being replaced at the break.
Gianluca Scamacca 6
Fit to start after missing Chelsea trip through illness. Nice hold-up play, though missed best chance of half. Another replaced in triple switch at half-time.
Jarrod Bowen (Benrahma 46’) 8
Took penalty brilliantly and cameo represented by some way his best performance of the season so far after a sluggish start to the campaign.
Lucas Paqueta (Lanzini 46’) 7
Already looking such a classy operator. Decision-making in the final-third is excellent.
Michail Antonio (Scamacca 46’) 7
Nuisance value created Emerson goal. Got late chance all wrong after Coufal pull-back but made amends with late clincher.
Pablo Fornals (Cornet 68’) 6
Denied by decent save from Bowen cut-back. Flick fed Antonio for third.
Craig Dawson (Ogbonna 90’)
Given huge ovation on first appearance of season as a late substitute.
Unused: Randolph, Hegyi, Zouma, Coventry, Potts, Clayton, Mubama.
