West Ham are ‘set to sign’ Gianluca Scamacca having reached a ‘full agreement’ with Sassuolo and agreeing personal terms with the striker.

Scamacca scored 16 goals in 36 Serie A matches last term and has attracted interest from a number of top European clubs, including French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Arsenal were also keen and were linked with the 23-year-old both in January, having missed out on Dusan Vlahovic, and again this summer before they landed Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

Fabrizio Romano now claims West Ham have won the race having reached a ‘full agreement’ with Sassuolo.

David Moyes’ side will pay €36m up front plus €6m in add ons, and the deal includes a 20 per cent sell on clause.

West Ham have also been heavily linked with Chelsea’s Armando Broja, but rumours of the Albanian moving to the London Stadium dwindled in the wake of Blues boss Thomas Tuchel’s recent comments.

Tuchel said: “I don’t expect him to leave. I’m aware of the offers and aware of the interest. We will make a decision together, the owner and me and the player. When he arrived it was clear he is trying to impress and become a Chelsea player.”

Tweeting on Wednesday afternoon, Romano revealed that West Ham and Chelsea were in ‘direct negotiations’, though the Blues were ‘figthing’ to keep hold of Broja as Tuchel is a ‘huge fan’.

And the transfer expert now claims the Broka deal is ‘off’ after the Hammers agreed personal terms with Scamacca.

The Irons have also reportedly made a bid for Eintracht Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic.

The 29-year-old helped Frankfurt win the Europa League last term, shining in the semi-finals against West Ham after the German side disposed of FC Barcelona in the round prior.

He’s out of contract next summer so the Hammers are looking to land him for a respectable price.

Interest in the Serbian international accelerated after it emerged that top left-back target David Raum is closing in on a move from Hoffenheim to RB Leipzig.
