West Ham and Brighton will hope to make amends for frustrating draws last time out when they meet on Friday night in the Premier League.

Chris Wood denied the Hammers all three points in the 85th minute of Turf Moor before Wayne Rooney's 90th-minute plenty shared the spoils at the Amex Stadium.

Both teams sit on eight points after eight games following a largely inconsistent start to the new campaign and know a win will send them into the top half, albeit likely only temporarily.

Team news

Andy Carroll is suspended for West Ham's Friday night meeting with Brighton following his red card at Burnley last weekend.

Diafra Sakho is out with a back problem but Javier Hernandez hopes to shake off a hamstring niggle.

Defender James Collins remains sidelined by an ankle problem, and back-up goalkeeper Adrian has been ruled out through illness.

Brighton will be without Shane Duffy and Davy Propper for the foreseeable.

The defender was forced off with a groin injury last time out and Uew Hunemeier is expected to deputise, as he did for the latter stages of the Everton draw.

Propper will miss the first minutes of the season after being struck down with thigh injury, while Steve Sidwell is still out. Tomer Hemed serves the last of his three-match ban.

Predicted line-ups

West Ham starting XI: Hart; Zabaleta, Fonte, Reid, Cresswell; Noble, Kouyate; Antonio, Lanzini, Arnautovic; Chicharito

Brighton starting XI: Ryan; Bruno, Hunemeier, Dunk, Suttner; Knockhaert, Stephens, Dropper, March; Gross, Murray
