'What will happen will happen' - Guardiola coy on Arteta rumours
Pep Guardiola declared “what will happen will happen” when asked whether Manchester City manager Mikel Arteta will take up the managerial vacancies at either Arsenal or Everton.
City were comfortable 3-0 winners over Arsenal, a club Arteta spent five seasons at during his playing career, but Guardiola refused to reveal whether the Spaniard will leave the club.
The 48-year-old explained: “He’s part of the huge success we have had. He’s an important part.
“What will happen will happen. He’s part of our staff, but what will happen, I don’t know.”

Arteta also spent eight seasons at Everton, and is therefore an obvious link to both clubs currently without a permanent manager in the Premier League, and Guardiola did admit, the pair have talked about the situation.
He continued: “We have joked about what will happen. I have said, you have many offers, more than us, but it is personal. If he wants to talk, of course we are open to talking but it is private.
“I don’t want to make him uncomfortable.”
